“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”
Comic-Con. San Diego. 2012. Gentle Giant Studios Pavilion: Comic-Con Exclusive.
~ I don’t really drink much, but I had a martini with this guy once…
It was at Dragon*Con. In the Hyatt. At night. A little group of us were sittin’ around outside on these big-huge black leathery couches. We were just outside the bar on this like private little balcony just over-looking the pool. Dark and late outside on a Saturday night. There were a whole bunch of us there. Drinking drinky-drinks. Him (the Star Wars guy), the guy who played Boba Fett, and the girl who played Leeta the Dabo Girl on Star Trek… The real actors. Few people I didn’t know were scattered around. We were all just sittin’ around havin’ a little drinky-drink late one night. Relaxing after a long day. Star Wars Guy was sipping martinis. Boba Fett Guy had easily managed to acquire two girls nestled under each of his arms and he seemed very content with himself… The Leeta Girl however was clearly the center of attention for the evening… She was beautiful… happy and holding court… Giving everyone her attention… She owned the night… And as the evening bubbled on, the “I find your lack of faith disturbing” guy, he started flirting with her, leaning in closer and closer, the drip of secuction on his lips… his eyes set upon her, looming above his martini glass… slowly making his move… confidently waiting for the right moment to pounce upon his prey… and me and Boba Fett with his two girls and a twinkle in his eye, we just kept lookin’ at each other, me and the bounty hunter, terribly amused… silently watching… an unspoken acknowledgement just between the two of us…  quietly observing the Admiral’s attempts to win the beautiful Bajoran under the starry skies… Which he did not, of course, by the way……  Anyway…  It was neato… It was cool… It was nice… it was a very nice evening…
and the martini was piss-awful-god-nasty-horrible. Seriously. it was gasoline.
